Acupuncture is again shown to relieve migraine headaches
Acupuncture has been widely used because of the treatment of migraine headaches and it has been subjected to people clinical trials. A new study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal confirms what previous research has shown – that acupuncture in circumstance is effective. This study was performed through . Chinese researchers and it involved 480 patients. It was a well-designed and rigorously conducted study. The doctors divided patients into 4 groups with 3 groups receiving different types of absolute acupuncture and the fourth one receiving assumed acupuncture. Sham acupuncture group had needles inserted, yet they were not manipulated to bring to light a specific “qi” perception, which was done in the actually being groups. Patients in all three groups receiving actually being acupuncture did better than those in the make-believe group. The benefit persisted for at minutest three months after the treatment. The contest was statistically significant (meaning it did not occur by chance) but not very large, chiefly because the sham group also improved. In sum and substance, this study strongly supports the results of anterior clinical trials in migraines, which showed over-confident effects of acupuncture. It also showed that the impressed sign of acupuncture is not important, moreover needles need to be inserted strictly and probably need to have electrical stimulation (whole groups in this study had electrical stimulation). One dead-stand in following the treatment used in this study is the strait for doing acupuncture five days a week on this account that 4 weeks. Many people may gain difficulty finding the time (and wealth) for such a regimen. However, numerous company of the previous positive studies were conducted through acupuncture treatment being performed once a week.
